Fire & Life Safety
The Fire & Life Safety Division is responsible for the fire safety of the buildings within the city. To do this, they review building plans for new buildings to ensure they meet the adopted fire code. The fire code is designed to reduce the likelihood of a fire, slow the spread of a fire, and protect the people inside of the building.
They also investigate fires to learn how the fire started, how the fire spread, and how people were affected by the fire. This helps us to build better buildings and teach people how to escape a fire.
